Senior moving and downsizing
There may be no harder move on a family than clearing the home where parents spent forty years, and almost none of that difficulty is about the boxes. So we ease off, working each piece at a pace nobody has to keep up with, handling that Broward home as carefully as our own family’s.
One flat rate, no clock
Nobody is watching a meter and no outsider is setting the pace of your day. The sorting, the boxing, the move, and any storage roll into a single written number, which is exactly why no one in the family feels hustled along.
Into a smaller home
More often than not the destination is smaller: a Fort Lauderdale condo, a 55-plus community out in Pembroke Pines or Tamarac, an in-law suite near the grown kids, or a drive up to family in Orlando or Tampa. Whichever it turns out to be, one crew sees the whole job through, the same faces from the very first box to the very last.
Where we step in
- Sort, a room at a time We move through the Broward home room by room, deciding together what makes the trip, what heads to donation, and what has simply reached the end, never with a clock leaning on the decision.
- Hand-pack the keepsakes The china, the framed photographs, and anything that carries a memory are boxed by hand, slowly and with genuine care.
- Clear what stays behind We schedule the donation pickups and haul off whatever is not coming along to the new home.
- Store the surplus Whatever the smaller home cannot take goes straight into our climate-controlled, piano-safe storage.
- Set up the new place Before our trucks pull away, the beds are made up and every room is left settled and in order.
Coordinating with relatives
More often than not the adult children are spread across other states, running the entire move long-distance from wherever they live. Carla keeps each of them up to date on the schedule and the written figure, while Nicole handles the storage and any high-rise or 55-plus community COI the new address requires.
The piano comes too
Often the piano that raised the family is the one piece that has to make the move, even when little else does. Victor handles it the way he would a concert grand, boarded and wrapped, so the instrument lands safe in the new condo while the rest is sorted at an easy pace.
