What a Broward local move truly costs
Most callers lowball a Fort Lauderdale move, usually because somebody floated a tidy phone number for a home nobody had seen. For a move that stays inside Broward, what you owe is the crew, the truck, and everything that happens in between, written up as one flat figure.
- 2-mover rate$140/hr, crew + truck
- 3-mover rate$190/hr, crew + truck
- What runs the clockAccess, not distance
Access is what sets the number
A grand piano up to a 20th-floor Intracoastal condo, a sofa edged down a Victoria Park staircase, a freight-elevator window booked to the minute, all eat hours a ground-floor garage never would. Carla builds those hours into the number from the start instead of pretending they aren’t coming.
Local flat-rate ranges
Once Carla has walked the rooms, the hourly math hardens into one flat figure on paper. The ranges below reflect a typical job around Fort Lauderdale and Broward, in places like Hollywood, Pompano Beach, Plantation, Davie, and Weston.
| Home size | Crew & truck | Typical flat rate |
|---|---|---|
| Studio / 1-bedroom apartment | 2 movers, 1 truck | $500 – $750 |
| 2-bedroom home or condo | 2 – 3 movers, 1 truck | $1,000 – $1,600 |
| 3-bedroom house | 3 movers, 1 truck | $1,900 – $2,900 |
| 4+ bedroom house | 3 – 4 movers, 1 – 2 trucks | $3,200 – $4,600 |
Piano moving, our specialty
Pianos are priced on their own, on top of the move or as a standalone job, with our specialist on a piano board and the right rigging.
| Piano type | Typical flat rate |
|---|---|
| Upright piano | $250 – $450 |
| Baby grand | $450 – $750 |
| Full grand | $650 – $1,200 |
Where the hours actually pile up
A few things swing the total, and each is already pinned inside the figure you sign, so move day never springs a fresh charge.
- The high-rise. An Intracoastal or downtown tower wants a COI on file and a reserved freight-elevator window; Carla pulls both before the date.
- The staircase. Older Victoria Park and Sailboat Bend homes have tight stairs and no elevator, so easing heavy furniture down takes patience.
- Heat and humidity. South Florida heat asks for climate-aware handling, and a grand or organ wants piano-safe care, not raw muscle.
- Oversized goods. A piano, gun safe, or pool table wants trained hands and a piano board, which is what we do every day.
Crew and coverage, plain
Dominic Russo founded Piano Movers Fort Lauderdale in 2011, with Carla Mendez writing the quotes and pulling the COIs, and Andre Beaumont, Victor Pratt, Sal Greco, and Nicole Foster leading crews and coordinating the jobs.
By federal rule your goods default to released-value protection at 60 cents per pound; full-value protection, which pays toward replacing a broken item, runs roughly 1 to 3 percent of the value you declare. Have us come through, look at every room, and put a firm figure on paper.
